TEN OUTFIT IDEAS FOR AUTUMN
Autumn is here, and I am so ready for it! My online styling clients are eagerly awaiting their seasonal online styling edits. So in preparation, I have been scouring the high street stores to find all the best pieces. All my clients have one thing in common. They are all focusing on wardrobe staples that they will want to wear time and time again.
One of my favourite high street stores for quality wardrobe staples is Marks and Spencer. Their new range 'Anything but the Ordinary' is designed to make you feel great, feel comfortable, lift your confidence and help you be at your best. This collection of products will also save you time, they wash well and don’t cost the earth. It is refreshing to see a high street brand really focusing on what their customer wants and thinking about the longevity of the products they produce.
As consumers, I think it is more important than ever that we shop with intention and only buy products that we can wear in multiple ways to serve our busy lifestyles. Through my work as a personal stylist, I advise my clients to think about at least three different ways they can wear an item before they actually purchase it. If you know you won't wear it more than a few times then it won't be a worthy investment. Each new season it is so easy to get sucked into buying into the latest trends but before your buy anything I urge you have a good think about whether these trending items fit in line with your style personality. Think about if they will fit in well with your current lifestyle.
Why not do a mini edit of your wardrobe, this will help you to identify any gaps that you are missing. Another great tip is to create flat lays of existing items in your wardrobe and build full outfits with accessories. This will also give you ideas on what occasions these outfits can be worn. Take pictures of these looks and save them in a folder on your phone as a reference when you are out shopping. This will remind you of what you already own and also stop you from buying any repeat items.

QUILTED COAT
The quilted coat is a big trend this autumn but I also think it is super practical and will transition well into winter. It's a great piece to layer over tops or knitwear.

A cosy sweatshirt is a must in my wardrobe for everyday casual style. This look can be practically worn anywhere. Layer up with a textured teddy coat for the colder days.
TRENCH COAT
This is a stylish lightweight trench that will smarten up any casual look in this milder weather. I love this olive green colour, it's perfect for women who suit autumn colours.
KNITTED TANK
Now knitted tanks are another big trend this season. There is so much fun to be had by layering this over different tops and blouses with big collars. I think it's a piece worth investing in as it can give you lots of outfit options in your wardrobe.
LOAFERS
MIDI DRESS
Autumnal florals in the form of midi dresses are my favourites to wear this time of year. This look is perfectly elevated with this faux leather blazer to give you a smart dressed up vibe. Wear this outfit for brunch or out out with friends.
Good Jeans
I love a good pair of jeans in Autumn. The darker the shade the better. I love dark indigo or dark wash types of denim. I love the straight cut or wide-leg jeans for a relaxed vibe.
SMART TOP
Smart tops in neutral colours will serve you a lot longer in your wardrobe than bold prints that you may easily get bored of. This neutral knit top with the zip detail adds interest for a smart casual look.
CHELSEA BOOTS
I love this whole look for autumn. It's so easy to wear and I feel instantly put together with a printed dress, biker jacket and Chelsea boots that will practically match most everyday outfits for smart casual vibes.
JUMPER
Any autumn wardrobe cannot be without a good jumper. Argyle knits tend to repeat back every year. so, why not get one in a colour that you will know enjoy wearing every year.
